Gold jewellery profession is having its heritage, honesty and above all the grace of almighty ,due to so many intervention by police dept ,the decision taken to form a big force to protect our profession at first the seed grown by Madurai Jewelers Association at the time federation formed with 52 association joined together in Tamil Nadu . Very first bearers Sri Muthusamy Chettiar, Madurai as President , Sri T. Pitchai Chettiar, Madurai as Secretary and Sri S.S. Balakrishnan chetttiar, Madurai as treasurer . First federation meeting was held on 20,21-2-1953 at Madurai and that ever green memories carved with golden letters in the annals of history. The event of our late Hon. Chief Minister Mr.K. Kamaraj visit to our federation on 29-8- 1954 is one more mile stone. First secretary had performed yeoman service to our federation till his last breath. His magic word ‘Muruga Saranam’ takes place in minutes book and cannot be erased. Federation was functioned at Madurai during the year 1952 to 1954. Then shifted to Coimbatore and “Vyshya Pooshnam” Sri P.A.Raju Chettiar, Coimbatore elected as president, Sri K.R Radhakrishnan, Coimbatore elected as Secretary, and Sri K.Radhakrishna Pillai, Coimbatore elected as Treasurer & the federation shifted to Coimbatore & was functioning from the year 1954 to 1968. Aim to abolish Gold Control Act & for administrative appeals, it was decided to shift Federation office from Coimbatore to state capital Madurai.The opt decision was taken by the scholar & Social worker, ‘Vanika Ratnam’ Sri P.Gopalakrishnaiya Chennai. During the Federation meeting convened at Thiruparankundrum on 15.09.68. 9th extraordinary general body meeting Chennai, Sri R.Gopalakrishnaiya Chennai elected as President. Sri K.R Radhakrishnan, Coimbatore as Secretary and “ Paramartha Poosanam” Sri Nathella Sampathu Chettiyar elected as Hon. Treasurer.
